CACSE is pleased to call for nominations for the next “Rise Up” Award, presented to educators and support personnel for their extraordinary efforts in assisting children in special education. We seek to recognize any teacher, administrator, therapist, paraeducator or other educational assistant, school support staff or anyone in the special education system who has truly gone to extraordinary efforts to contribute to the growth, happiness and general well-being of our children in a compassionate and caring way.
We present this yearly award at a spring meeting of the Board of Education, and educators and families are welcome to celebrate this achievement. It is CACSE’s way of recognizing and honoring those dedicated professionals who give so much of themselves for our children. We ask that all parents and caregivers of children with special needs consider nominating worthy individuals and school teams for this award. Winners receive a stipend we call the “Teacher Toolbox,” which provides educational and therapeutic supplies, devices and materials for their students and classroom.
